Andalusian Music
Andalusian music is formerly known as the moussiqua al-ala, is a court music played and sung in major cities of the Kingdom: Fez, Tetouan, Oujda and Tangier.

It is mainly present in the north because of the history of these regions and origins of their inhabitants (Arabs expelled from Andalusia)
.The orchestra is composed of several strings. The poems are literal or colloquial Arabic. The orchestra members are all dressed in white djellabas.
The Malhun:
The popular Arabic song in Morocco borrows its modes from Andalusian music, simplifying them .
The Quassid nevertheless retained the division of text into stanzas as in the Andalusian song: the verse (ghson: branch or twig) may include eight or sixteen lines, a short chorus (harba: spear) offers an alternative that can break the monotony of the musical discourse of singing Malhun.
