Casablanca City
I was born and raised in Casablanca. I love this city with all my heart. From the kornich ain diab to the old medina, to the modern shopping stores, to the bazars in bab merrakch, to the city center, to lamaarif, to bin lamdoune that has the small narrow steets, to derb foqara, to Lhobouss, to the great night clubs, to the great HassanII Mosque, to almost every little detail I say this is a city you don't wanna miss. This is the biggest city in Morocco.
Let's go over the history behind the city. Casablanca City is also known as Anfa. It seems that Anfa is at the same location today as before. But the city was inhabited during the Paleolithic period.
These are the Phoenicians, Romans, Berbers and the Carthaginians who founded Casablanca city or the city of Anfa. The city takes its rise in the late seventh century and early eighth century. 
The inhabitants of the city turned to attack the peninsula of Cadiz and the entire coast of Portugal.
Therefore the King of Portugal decided to take revenge. Dom Ferdinand entered into war with all its artillery and its entire fleet and annihilated Anfa.
The city, reports Leo Africanus, was in such a state he was afraid that it would never again be inhabited. This prophecy will not happen.
In 1515 Anfa will suffer another attack. 60 years later, the Portuguese will take place in the city and give it the name of Casablanca.
The Portuguese will depart from Casablanca city in 1755 because of attacks by neighboring tribes and the earthquake.
The Berbers then lived in Casa between 1757 and 1790 during the reign of Sidi Mohammed Ben Abdellah.
They will rebuild the city and will call it in turn Dar el Beida. The name will be reprocessed by the Spanish to Casablanca.
In the eighteenth century, Casablanca became a major commercial center. Mid-nineteenth century the commercial role of the city exploded in 1862 and a service between Marseille and Morocco will appear. Casablanca was still a small town until the mid-nineteenth century.
In 1909, Spain began the reconquest of the city but two years later the Sultan Moulay Hafid took contact with the French army that is free because Fez was identified by tribes. An area will be assigned al'Espagne in 1912 of the Protectorate Treaty signed by the Sultan, just out of obligation. 
From 1907 the French colonial forces will be much more present and yet thanks to it and the Franco-Spanish competition, a real boom took form in Casablanca city .
The port of Casablanca was built in the twentieth century. Casablanca today is a city Europeanized and has a huge number of tourist visitors from all walks of life, thanks to its port and its airport Mohamed V.
