Moroccan Table
The making of a Moroccan table is considered an art because it relies
primarily on talent, and as a profession, requiring expertise and
experience that some people of
Fez,
Meknes,
Essaouira,
Marrakech,
Tetouan and have built up over decades .
The workshop is the capital of the learning of every craftsman. This
workshop is led by a Master Craftsman "Maalem", to draw plans,
geometric and floral designs that are the first step in creating a
Moroccan table. Craftsmen (skilled workers in many disciplines) execute
those plans and drawings with traditional tools.

The joinery craft, among other disciplines of woodworking, is divided
into two aspects: the wooden Menqouch "(carved) and the wooden Zouacké"
(painted).
The carved table, also known as: Wood "Menqouch" is worked
with traditional tools, and is divided into two kinds Tawrik
and Tachjire.
The "Maalem gives its geometric or floral design (or combining the two
genres) to workers who perform on wood while showing their great talent.
As for the painted table, also known as: Wood Zouacke. It is
covered with paint of different colors, showing sheets of various sizes
with a large flower in the center (called method Tawrik) or tree leaves
(called method Tachgire).
The painting is done with special brushes that each artisan has to
manufacture according to his way of working.
The carpentry craftsmanship is present in all the palaces and large
houses of Morocco. This thanks to its wealth and almost infinite models
give a wide choice of styles.
